Labor/Delivery/Recovery
Childbirth Pain Management, Hospital Infant Security & More
At our facilities, Labor/Delivery/Recovery
(LDR) rooms are available, so that you can stay in the same room
from labor to delivery. LDR suites were created with your comfort
in mind and feature a warm, homelike atmosphere with cable TV and
sleeping accommodations for Dad. Some are even equipped with therapeutic
tubs to ease labor discomfort. When you have finished your recovery,
you will move to the Mother-Baby Unit.
We want your baby's birth to be special. That's why you have the
option of including family members in your birth experience. You're
also free to determine how much time you spend with your new baby
from birth until you return home.
SPECIALIZED CHILDBIRTH PAIN MANAGEMENT
For many mothers, childbirth pain management is among the most important
childbirth considerations in selecting a hospital. At BAPTIST HEALTH, we offer 24 hour anesthesia
capabilities, enabling us to respond quickly and efficiently to
your needs, no matter what the time of day. Our complete spectrum
of pain management services includes options such as intravenous
medication, epidural anesthesia and a popular method known as the
epidural pump. We also provide instruction and support for those
who prefer to give birth without medication.
A multidisciplinary team consisting of Physicians,
Social Workers, Nutritionists, Anesthesiologist, Nurse Anesthetist,
Registered Nurses, Nurse Manager, Physical Therapists, and Respiratory
Therapists work together to provide specialized care 24 hours a
day, seven days a week.
MOTHER-BABY UNIT
The first few days following your baby's arrival are a time for
the family to get better acquainted with its newest member and for
you as a new parent to take advantage of the teaching our staff
provides. We also understand that many new mothers need a great
deal of time to rest and recuperate.
Although many new mothers choose to keep
their baby with them continuously, we also provide an experienced
newborn nursery staff ready to care for your baby 24 hours a day.
Fathers, grandparents, and siblings are always
welcome to see the mother and new baby. Other friends and relatives
are encouraged to visit at the mother's request. Please limit the
number of young visitors to healthy siblings of the new baby. An
adult other than the new mother must accompany siblings at all times.
HOSPITAL INFANT SECURITY
A comprehensive system of hospital infant security is in place to ensure
the safety and security of all infants in our unit. The nursing
staff will educate parents about the electronic surveillance system
and the entire security plan in place to prevent infant abduction.
WE ARE COMMITTED TO YOUR BABY'S SAFETY
Arkansas State Law requires children under the age of four to be
in an adequate safety restraint when riding in an automobile. This
means that you must have an infant car seat for your baby in the
car and be familiar with how it works before you leave the hospital.
