In
2007 BAPTIST HEALTH Rehabilitation Institute received an Excellence
in Parkinson's Care Accreditation from the Parkinson's
Foundation of the Heartland. This accreditation was obtained
following a comprehensive training program completed by nurses,
therapists, and care coordinators on the Parkinson's treatment team.
The training, designed specifically to meet the needs of individuals
with Parkinson's disease, covers topics such as fall prevention,
medication options, nutrition, exercise, activities of daily living,
speech and swallowing, and emotional health. This accreditation
assures that our professional staff have the resources and expertise
to fully serve people with Parkinson's disease.
