Playing a round of golf this weekend? You’re not alone—according to the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the average golfer will play about 37 rounds each year. Unfortunately, all this playing means that the number of golf-related injuries is on the rise.

BAPTIST HEALTH’s Golf for Life Program is here to help. Whether you’re looking to improve your performance, prevent an injury or re-injury, or treat and rehabilitate a current injury, the program is designed for you. For more information about the BH Therapy Center Golf for Life program, call B-A-P-T-I-S-T (227-8478), ext. 402, or 1-888-B-A-P-T-I-S-T.

DID YOU KNOW?

Golf is a great choice for exercise, especially for older adults. But walking is the key. Walking during a golf game has been shown to help blood cholesterol levels. And golfing may relieve lower back pain. However, it may not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions. Check with your doctor first.
