The The Baptist Health Kidney Transplant Program began in 1989
and has now completed over 800 kidney transplants. Our team
is dedicated to providing evaluation for transplant candidacy and
post-transplant care in a patient-focused manner within a Christian
environment.
Our goal is to rehabilitate you so that your quality of life is
much better than what you currently have. We are using an innovative
technique called laparoscopic donor nephrectomy for most of our
donors, and our survival rates compare favorably to national rates.
This technique reduces the recovery time and stress for our donors.

EVALUATION PROCESS . . .
Your nephrologist (or the nurse) will refer you to our office for
screening and appointment. You can call us toll-free at 800-768-8003
or our local number 501-202-1500. Once your information has been
reviewed, we will call you to set up your appointment with us. Please
make sure your nephrologist office has your current personal and
insurance information. We will meet with you and review your specific
work-up requirements. As soon as you complete those and have received
final approval - you can be listed on the national wait list, or
we can schedule surgery if you have an approved live donor.
DONOR EVALUATION . . .
If you are interested in being a donor to someone that you know
very well, please call us and we will talk to you about your medical
candidacy and work-up requirements specific to yourself.
Medicare allows us to pay for the donor work-up that we require
(We cannot pay for travel, lodging, meals, and time-off work, etc.).
