Staff
The Pastoral Care Staff of Baptist Health Medical Center – LR,
Baptist Health Medical Center – NLR, Baptist Health Rehabilitation
Institute and Baptist Health Schools – LR, Baptist Health Medical
Center - Arkadelphia, Baptist Health Medical Center - Heber Springs, Baptist Health Medical Center - Stuttgart, Baptist Health Extended Care Hospital,
and Baptist Health Hospice serve as:
Providers of an accepting and supportive pastoral ministry to
persons in need through:
- Supplying 24 hours pastoral care coverage
- Visiting patients and families
- Responding to patients, family and staff in crisis
- Assisting patients and families with meals, transportation, prescriptions, etc.
- Sending letters to families expressing concern following patient death at BHMC-LR
- Contacting the families of hospitalized Med-Flight patients while the team is en-route
- Ministering to families of Med-Flight scene patients
- Administering funds for employees in times of acute need
Facilitators of Christian care and compassion through:
- Participating in support groups
- Leading weekly spiritually groups for RECOVER and RECOVER TEEN
- Conducting memorial service for families whose family member died
at BHMC-LR
- Consulting and networking with clergy
- Implementing process for the donation of personal time off for employees
in need
- Supporting and counseling employees
- Furnishing a clergy room at BHMC-LR with patient congregational
lists available
- Providing a Daily Devotional for hospitals broadcast overhead,
on EmployeeNet & Devotional/Prayer Request line for Baptist Health
Supporters of the commitment to comprehensive healthcare through:
- Consulting with staff concerning patients/Family emotional, spiritual
and physical needs
- Participating in discharge planning meetings and multi-disciplinary
team meetings.
- Conferring with staff, patients and families concerning ethical
issues.
- Serving on committees and process teams concerned with continuous
improvement
- Visiting Baptist Health Hospice patients and families
- Contacting clergy
- Referrals
Educators of ministers, healthcare workers, and the community
at large through:
- Orienting clergy to hospitals, units and programs
- Offering seminars, workshops and educational opportunities for clergy.
- Teaching courses in the Baptist Health Schools
- Providing in services within Baptist Health
- Conducting college and seminary courses in Pastoral Care
- Lecturing in educational institutions outside Baptist Health
- Speaking to public groups and congregations
- Reminders of God’s presence in all circumstances through:
- Maintaining chapels open 24 hours daily.
- Delivering daily devotionals in the BHMC-LR chapel, broadcast on
channel 39
- Leading Sunday worship service for patients, families and staff
at BHRI & BHMC-NLR
- Coordinating with Gideons International to provide New Testaments
for patient rooms.
- Officiating at weddings, funerals and memorial services.
Meet the Pastoral Care Staff
| Director Stan Wilson has been employed by Baptist Health
in the Pastoral Care department since 1981. Stan holds a Doctor
of Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
in Kansas City, Missouri; a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas; and a Bachelor
of Science degree from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway,
Arkansas. Stan’s hobbies include photography, amateur astronomy,
and playing the mountain dulcimer. He is married to Dianna Haley
Wilson, the Freshman and Sophomore Coordinator in the RN school
at Baptist Health Schools Little Rock. They have two adult children,
Eric and Emily. |

| Chaplain Associate Rusty Howard began working with
Baptist Health in May of 1997. He holds an Associate of Divinity
degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Rusty
is married with two daughters and one grandson and enjoys Nascar,
photography, hunting, fishing and history. |

| Chaplain Kay Hardin began working with Baptist Health
in 1994. Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, she holds
degrees from Belmont University and New Orleans Baptist Theological
Seminary. Prior to chaplaincy she has served as assistant editor
with National Student Ministries at LifeWay Publishing and as
associate director of Baptist Campus Ministries at Baylor University.
She enjoys Ben & Jerry's "Chunky Monkey" ice cream,
hiking on the trails of Montreat, NC, loving on Zach the Cat
and cherry cobbler. Kay likes to play guitar, write and sing
songs. She can't play the drums but she sure likes to try! |

Chaplain Glenn Norris started working at Baptist Health
as a resident chaplain in 1996. He is a graduate of Southeastern
Oklahoma University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary,
and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Glenn is married
with two children and has pastored churches in Oklahoma, Arizona,
Indiana, Iowa, and Arkansas.

| Chaplain Monty Self started working for Baptist Health
in the fall of 2006. Prior to joining the pastoral care department
he eared a BA in philosophy from Ouachita Baptist University
and an MDiv from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is married and has a son, age 5 who he likes to take fishing.
