The Bolo Bash® Golf Tournament is the largest charity golf tournament in the state with over 620 players and is the only annual fundraiser for BAPTIST HEALTH. Thanks to the generosity of the community, in 2007 Bolo Bash® raised over $773,000 for the Grants Award Program!
The 2008 tournament is a scramble with morning tee time at 7:30 a.m. and the afternoon tee time at 1:30 p.m. Approximately 155 teams play over 2 days. First, second, and third place prizes are awarded in two flights each morning and afternoon.
2008 BOLO BASH® Golf Beneficiary
The 2008 Beneficiary is the BAPTIST HEALTH Heart and Kidney Transplant Institute. Each year five million Americans have heart failure with an incidence of occurrence being ten in every one thousand after the age of 65. The BAPTIST HEALTH Heart Transplant Program was established in 1989. It has the added benefit of being centrally located within a full-service hospital system. In 2006, the BAPTIST HEALTH Heart Transplant Program surpassed Baylor Medical Center in the number of transplants performed. 148 heart transplants have been performed during the last 18 years. We currently perform an average of 1½ transplants each month, which makes BAPTIST HEALTH the most active and ONLY Medicare approved adult heart transplant program in the state.
You probably know someone that has suffered from heart failure, most of us do. To help these people and to help protect our loved ones we all need to get involved.
