Success Stories
What
is truly amazing about our state is not how different and diverse
we are, but the things we share in common - our desire for a good
life, and our hope for good health for those we care for and ourselves.
There's
a story behind every patient that passes through the doors of Baptist Health and each one will touch your heart. We can't cover every
story for every patient or the extraordinary care team that helped
them recover, but here are a few we found exceptionally inspirational.
Susan Beard
Susan was home with her daughter and grandchildren when she started having difficulty speaking and moving the right side of her body. Her daughter called 911 and the EMT's rushed her to the hospital, where it was discovered she had an aneurysm and had suffered a stroke. After a week at UAMS, she was transferred to Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institute, where she learned the skills to return to her life.

Cindy Honeycutt
When the paramedic arrived on the scene, Cindy Honeycutt was unresponsive. She was one of the first Baptist Health patients to need the use of Therapeutic Hypothermia - a lifesaving technology that lowers the body's core temperature to preserve brain function and then slowly warms the patient back up.
